How to Play Valorant in a Different Region: I came across a post on Google that says you cannot change your region in Valorant. Well, that’s not true. Yes! If you expect the game to provide a feature that will allow you to play the game from a different region than your original, you cannot. Valorant currently does not allow users from different areas to compete together. You are matched with players in your region only. Read the guide to learn how to change your region in Valorant.

As the saying goes, “where there’s a will, there’s a way.” To give you a hint, we will use a VPN to play the game from the region of your choosing.

As Valorant is only available in the US, Canada, Europe, and select other regions, this fix can also help you play Valorant if you belong to a region that yet does not have access to the Valorant beta.

Have Access to the Beta

If you do not have access to the beta and if you are planning on getting access to the beta, this fix will save you a hassle. Because if you want to change the region using a VPN, you will have to again go through the painstaking task of getting access to the beta, all over again.

Riot has been transitioning all its players to use a common account to access its various games such as League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, and the current Valorant. Hence, your previous Riot account is already locked to your region. You cannot play the game from a different region using the same account. If you have noticed, the region selector option in the login screen is available no more.

A VPN Can Help

This means that if your Riot account was created in North America, you could not play the game with your European friends. However, as we said, we will teach you how to change your region in Valorant and play with friends.

First thing first, let’s create a new Riot account using a VPN. We have created a list of the top best VPNs to use for Valorant.

Using VPN Create a New Riot Account

After you have downloaded the free VPN of your choice:

  1. Install and launch the program.
  2. Choose the country or region where you want to play Valorant.
  3. Once you have done all that, click the link to create a new Riot account.

Once you have created the account, you can use this account to play the game with your mates in the region you selected on the VPN. However, you will again have to obtain access to the beta and go through the arduous task of streaming videos.

Why you Need a VPN to Play Valorant?

Once you sign up for a Riot ID, your account will be locked to a region. Riot doesn’t tend to allow players to change this easily. In League of Legends, its other hit game, Riot even charged players to make the change.

A VPN lets you appear to be in any country, so you can sign up in whatever location you like. Then you can play Valorant in that region as long as you have your VPN activated.

With a VPN, you can easily switch your Valorant region and play from anywhere you choose.

Can I play Valorant with my friends from India, China, and abroad?

Yes, but only if you use a VPN. All of the VPNs I tested have large server networks so that you can pick any country around the world. However, keep in mind that you’ll need to create different accounts for different regions and that you will need to be connected to a VPN at all times while playing.

Will a VPN increase lag times while I play Valorant?

Not if you use a reliable VPN for gaming. In fact, using a VPN can even give you a boost — ISPs sometimes intentionally throttle your speed. But as soon as you connect to a VPN, your ISP won’t be able to decrease your speed anymore. Plus, the VPNs I tested have great speeds, and they had great performance while I played.

Can I use a Free VPN to play Valorant?

Free VPNs are a bad idea. We all love to save money, but some of the ways you end up paying for free VPNs make it a terrible trade. This can range from ridiculously low data caps to malware, to servers that aren’t even in the country they’re supposed to be in.

Suppose you really want to save money on a VPN. In that case, you’re much better off checking out the discounts and money-back guarantees available on the premium VPN services listed above!

Conclusion

If you want to ensure you can play Valorant from any region, you need a VPN. With a VPN, you’ll be able to set up a Riot account connected to any region and use it to play Valorant using those servers.

My recommendation is NordVPN because of its reliability and incredible speeds. Its huge number of lightning-fast servers means that you can play Valorant in any region without lag.
