Including the release of upcoming episodes of “Ballers” and “Room 104,”. A script of the fourth episode of “Game of Thrones.” After releasing another half-gigabyte sample of its stolen HBO data; in order to prevent further leaks. The hackers group has demanded a ransom worth millions of dollars; in order to prevent further leaks.

The recent HBO data theft includes company’s many important documents, emails, employment agreements, financial balance sheets, and marketing-strategy PDFs. The script of the unreleased Game of Thrones episode 5. The hackers groups have watermarked all of those documents with “HBO is Falling.”

    Hackers Demand for Ransom:

As it is reported, the hackers sent a video message to HBO President and CEO Richard Plepler. They demanded his “six-month salary in Bitcoin“. That’s approximate $6 Million. It’s obviously a ransom for the stolen data. They also have warned otherwise they’ll continue leaking the confidential data of HBO.

In the video letter, with a sender name”Mr Smith” acting as the group of hackers behind the leak. The hackers asked for the unmentioned amount of money from Plepler.

“We successfully breached into your huge network. HBO was one of our difficult targets to deal with, but we succeeded (it took about 6 months),” the letter reads as Wired quoted.

“Our demand is clear and Non-Negotiable: We want XXXX dollars to stop leaking your Data. HBO spends 12 million for Market Research and 5 million for GOT7 advertisements. So consider us another budget for your advertisements!”

The ransom note also has mentioned the deadline for payment is just 3 days. but no specific date is there. The video letter has an image of the “Night King” in the end. That’s the villain from Game of Thrones with his arms raised; the word “standing” in one hand and “falling” in the other.

    HBO’s Stance On The Scenario:

In an internal email sent to to the HBO staff last week, Plepler said: “Many people have expressed particular concern about our e-mail system. At this time, we do not believe that our email system as a whole has been compromised, but the forensic review is ongoing.”

    HBO spokesperson Jeff Cusson said:

“The review to date has not given us a reason to believe that our :email system as a whole has been compromised,” Cusson says. “We continue to work around the clock with outside cyber security firms and law enforcement to resolve the incident.

If the company refuses to pay the ransom. Hackers have indeed stolen 1.5 terabytes of data from HBO. The users can keep their fingers crossed; for more leaks of upcoming episodes from their favourite shows.

At this point of time, it’s still not known that who is behind the hack.
