I’m definitely staying home from July 5th till July 15th, 2019. I mean it’s a historic event, where every NBA team participates. Lucky for us, ESPN and NBA TV are bringing the matches to our screens. Actually, it’s lucky for American residents as these streaming services are only available in the US. I got blocked once or twice before since I live abroad, but it’s a-okay now. NBA Summer League on ESPN and NBA TV

Although we have dedicated channels that will be broadcasting the whole championship, viewers are supposed to be located in the United States to be able to access them. You see, streaming channels like ESPN and NBA TV only operate in the United States. They examine a user’s IP address to determine his/her location. Once your whereabouts are pinpointed to be outside the US, you’ll immediately lose access to the channels’ content due to geographic restrictions.

Take what happened to me while I was trying to watch the previous NBA season. I live outside the United States, and I’m a big Toronto Raptors fan. Unfortunately, I got blocked from watching their matches. This is what I got instead of my video on ESPN.

“This content cannot be accessed outside of the US.”

Back then, I didn’t know what to do, so I kept my hopes up and tried NBA TV for a change. Sadly, the same thing occurred, but with a different frustrating error message.

“No streams currently available.”

Don’t dwell, my fellow NBA fans. As I mentioned, I was able to circumvent the geo-restrictions imposed on the channels’ content. How did I do that, you may ask? Well, with a VPN, of course.

How to Watch NBA Summer League 2019 Live with a VPN

Alright, so we’ve acknowledged the fact that these channels are blocked outside the US. These services can be easily acquired abroad with the help of a VPN.

A Virtual Private Network is a security tool that exists to hide your identity online and protect your data from online threats. Aside from that, this robust tool can relocate your whereabouts and make it appear as if you’re accessing the web from a different country.

That, of course, is based on where the server you connect to is based. For example, if you connect to a US server, you obtain a US IP address instead of your now-cloaked one. As a result, you’ll be able to stream the likes of US Netflix, Hulu, ESPN, NBA TV, and dozens of other US-restricted channels. See, it’s really a simple task to do.

A Step-by-Step Walk-through

If you want a more comprehensive look at the matter, follow the steps below and learn how to watch NBA Summer League 2019 live anywhere:

  • To kick it off, you should invest in a reputable VPN. Try NordVPN, it helped me out, and I’m pretty sure it’ll do the same for you.
  • Next, download their VPN application on a compatible device. You’ll find clients available on Android, iOS, PC, MacOS, as well as Amazon Fire Stick.
  • Once installed, activate the application and sign in with your newly created VPN account.
  • Navigate through the server list until you find an American server. You can type “USA” in the search bar for a faster approach.
  • Connect to a server in the United States and wait a few moments for the connection to kick in.
  • If you want to double check your new IP address, head over to this IP Identifier page.
  • Now, launch either ESPN or NBA TV depending on the match you wish to stream.
  • Finally, you can watch NBA Summer League 2019 regardless of where you might be.

If you’re wondering why I suggested NordVPN, let me shed some light on what this VPN can do. NordVPN has more than 5000 servers around the world.
