As of now, where the pirate sites are busy in finding one way or the another, the MPAA is there to take action on those sites. Hence, as per the latest submission to the US Trade Representative, MPAA is again set on fire.

Here, the MPAA is stating that the Switzerland law for pirate sites is not enough. With this, it is becoming a hot hub for pirate sites to run without an issue in Switzerland.

Further, even the European countries have their plans to update their laws but till now, no significant improvement is seen.

Hence, to let us know more about the fight between the MPAA and Switzerland government, let’s move ahead and find some useful information on the same.

MPAA Says Switzerland Is Attracting Pirate Sites Story

Firstly, the European Union is working quite hard to find different ways to block pirate sites, forever. Further, they are even looking to strengthen copyright laws whereas, different paths are been taken.

Still, in case if you don’t know, Switzerland is not an active part of the EU which means that their policies will be different from its neighbours.

According to Hollywood, the same thing is not helping the creators and plenty of copyright infringement is on the verge of expansion.

Hence, on the basis of MPAA, Switzerland’s copyright law is inadequate making it an attractive spot for pirate site hosting.

A Word of Mouth by the MPAA

“Switzerland’s copyright law is wholly inadequate, lacking crucial mechanisms needed for enforcement in the digital era,’. Switzerland lacks meaningful remedies and effective enforcement against online copyright infringement. Switzerland’s inadequate legal framework and robust technical infrastructure make it an extremely attractive host for illegal sites.” MPAA writes

Further, yet another concern is that the Swiss have got no demand for Internet services for removing the copyright infringement content.

Hence, over the decades where the piracy rate was on the rise, Switzerland’s laws still remains to be the same.

Till now, no sorts of changes are made and the government doesn’t seem to bother much.

Thus, from the above-given statement by the MPAA, clearly the Switzerland copyright law is insufficient and they will have to do something on that, at the earliest.

Further, the Hollywood group wants a strict change in laws from the Switzerland government. And even wants the Switzerland ISP’s to block every single torrent site, at the earliest.

Final Word of Mouth: MPAA Says Switzerland Has Become An Attractive Spot For Pirate Sites

As of now, its pretty much clear that Hollywood is not happy with how the things are happening in Switzerland. It’s their content and its infringement will certainly bear huge losses.

Hence, all they can do is to hope that the US government can help them to implement strict copyright laws in Singapore.

Unless the same happens, Pirate sites will continue finding shelter in Switzerland and piracy, as usual, will remain dominant.
