How to Watch The Last Kingdom Season Four Online

Based on ‘The Saxon Stories’ book series by Bernard Cornwell, the Last Kingdom found a new home on Netflix in 2018 after a two-year stint at the BBC.

The historical drama is set in 9th-century England. Christian Saxon territories have been overwhelmed by pagan Viking invaders – except one, King Alfred’s Wessex.

The show’s renewal was officially announced at the end of 2018. Since then, we’ve been sifting through the sands of time to unearth a host of new details on the upcoming episodes.

But Netflix uses strong geoblocking technology, so if you live outside the US, you won’t find out if Uhtred comes any closer to reclaiming his birthright.

Don’t worry, I have you covered. A VPN with streaming optimized servers in the US can help you bypass Netflix geo-restrictions.

How to Watch Season 4 of The Last Kingdom on Netflix

  1. Choose a VPN. My favorite is NordVPN, for its lightning-fast speeds and strong security features like CyberSec.
  2. Install the VPN and connect to a US server.
  3. Sign up/log in to Netflix. That’s it, you’re ready for all the action!

Why You Need a VPN to Watch Season 4 of The Last Kingdom

Netflix US uses geoblocks to prevent users from viewing its content, mainly to protect their interests. They may not have permission to show the content outside the States.

A VPN helps you bypass pesky restrictions by giving you an IP address in the US regardless of where your true location is. When you connect to a US server through a VPN, you’re in the US as far as Netflix knows. This means you are free to watch The Last Kingdom, Season 4, whenever you want!

The Last Kingdom season four release date: When does it premiere?

With a number of productions paused due to the coronavirus pandemic, multiple projects that were due to begin filming currently off the table for the time being, and various release dates pushed back, the time for The Last Kingdom is now.

Filming wrapped back in October 2019, so fans have been patiently waiting for the announcement since the turn of the year.

And we finally have a premiere date…

“Shield walls at the ready, Arselings!” read the official announcement. “Prepare for battle as Season 4 of The Last Kingdom comes to NETFLIX on Sunday 26th April.”

This content is imported from Instagram. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may find more information on their website.

The Last Kingdom season four cast: Who’s in it?

Having such a vast cast to choose from, it’s safe to say everyone who’s still alive may be seen at some point in the future, given the source novels’ nature.

We’d expect to see Alexander Dreymon (Uhtred), Emily Cox (Brida), and Ian Hart (Beocca), among many more.

During an interview with Winter Is Coming, Arnas Fedaravičius, who plays Sihtric, chatted about the bond he developed with Dreymon, Mark Rowley (Finan), and Ewan Mitchell (Osferth).

“As soon as we met up and were introduced to each other, we became really close friends, really fast,” he said. “We started spending so much time together off-screen, working out, having dinners, helping each other with tapes. Just lots and lots of time together. And bit by bit, we started realizing that’s what gives life to the show.”

He added: “That’s been one of our main goals working together; to create real brotherly friendship, one that translates onto the screen.”

Conclusion

If you live outside the US, you won’t be able to watch Season 4 of The Last Kingdom without a US IP address. You won’t be able to get that without a VPN. My top choice is NordVPN; it’s fast and easily bypasses Netflix’s anti-VPN technology. Plus, it opens up a whole world of streaming services to you, including BBC iPlayer, Hulu, and more.
