First of all, in a recent letter which was sent to the US Intellectual Property enforcement coordinator (IPEC) MPAA asked the government’s assistance for help.

Further, the IPEC asked the public to give their inputs on the latest Joint Strategic Plan for Intellectual property enforcement. Here, the MPAA replied to people with some sorts of variable solutions.

In addition, the group notes that while there has been major progress in the legal supply end, piracy is still a global issue. This can be due to the lack of involvement from third-party services who can do much more to fight piracy.

A word of mouth by Neil Fried

“Compounding matters is the lack of accountability of some major online platforms for their failure to prevent content theft and other illicit conduct over their services,” the MPAA’s Senior Vice President Neil Fried writes.

In a recent submission, the MPAA still has got some voluntary agreements for the same.

Some Notes by the MPAA

“Given the central role of hosting providers in the online ecosystem, it is disconcerting that many refuse to take action when notified that their hosting services are being used in clear violation of their own terms of service prohibiting intellectual property infringement and in blatant violation of the law,” the MPAA said.

In addition, none of the hosting providers must challenge suspension court orders whenever the right holders will go against pirate sites. Hence, the hosting providers must observe the high traffic volumes which can be illegal. After which, they must ban referral traffic right from different pirate sites.

In reality, hosting providers can truly help media companies to improve the overall anti-piracy experience.

With which, MPAA will reverse the proxy servers, terminate infringement contents or at the least identify the location.
