The Higher Regional Court of Saarbrucken has said that the domain registrars can be blamed for pirate sites. Even if a single link is found, the registrar can be told to take that domain offline without any discussion.

This case was filed by the Universal Music on the Robin Thicke’s album named Blurred Lines. This order has caught the Pirate Bay Site as well and the site is ongoing series of bans and setbacks.

The Higher regional court said that the Key-Systems can be the reason behind infringement contents.

This means that if any site owner is not taking down the requested domains, Key systems are responsible to take illegal sites down. Even for the registrar, they must take pirated sites down with immediate effect.

On the other hand, the music group BVMI is quite happy with this case outcome. They believe that the copyright holders can get an edge with such a case.

“This is further important clarification in the legal space of the internet, helping it to become clearer and fairer for creatives and their partners,” says René Houareau, BVMI’s Managing Director Legal & Political Affairs.

“The [court] affirms, with clearly outlined criteria, the responsibility of so-called registrars and thus gives affected rightsholders an important legal tool to defend themselves against the unlawful use of their content on the internet.”

Being said that, ruling from German authorities can affect other sites along with the registrars. In fact, in the same kind of battle, 1 API who is a domain registrar lost a case. This made it them remove different Pirate-Bay domains at the earliest.

However, former Pirate Bay’s registrar was not allowed to appeal the case at any cost. But, the Key-Systems still have the option to take this case straight to the German Federal Court. With such option left, even H33T site can make a comeback.
