The UK site blocking list has grown to more than 3,800 URLs to date, which was not first expected from the government of UK. The UK site blocking campaign was started three years ago to fight the battle against piracy, at that time the target was precise as only 40 of the torrent sites were ordered to be blocked by the internet service providers (ISPs) throughout the UK (get the best VPN for UK to unblock and access all torrenting sites in UK). But this was not stopped to torrent sites only since then the UK site blocking list has grown to over 3,800 URLs so far which has a majority of proxies and mirror sites.

In the first phase of this UK sites Blocking campaign, the top ISPs; BT, Virgin Media, Sky, TalkTalk and EE started blocking the sites which provide content violating the copyright laws, small sized ISPs were not enforced to block sites in the UK.

Due to the increased internet censorship throughout the UK, the internet users have found effective ways to circumvent the censorship in the UK and that is using a secure and reliable VPN service. It has observed that use of VPN services has drastically increased all over the UK, due to increasing censorship policies imposed by the government of  UK.
